In at at least seven times better than Vista! This is what Vista should have been!
I upgraded from Home Premium to Windows Vista Home Premium last week in July. And while most of my original programs and files to be reinstalled (I did a cleansing "as" install), the update is absolutely worth it. Windows 7 is much more stable, and only a stronger system operation. The appearance of Windows issues jaw droppingly beautiful and my computer (Dell XPS M1530) starts and closed at least three times faster than before. I'm so glad I made the switch because it saves me so much time and headaches in the long term. A thought that is coming back to me is: Why in the world Microsoft has reported an operating system like Vista incomplete and why not have the 7 instead start with? Still I have to see how my new operating system will stand the test of time. And you can come back and update my review in a few months or so, but for now, I'm extremely happy and satisfied. That happiness continue. Amen!

The only problem occurred when I followed the instructions and tried to start Windows update and running the update program. I kept getting error messages and improve closure. I started with the CD in the drive (the standard way to install a new operating system) and it was great. I love 7 much more than Vista. I'm considering updating other Vista machines.

An upgrade from Windows XP
If you are upgrading from Win XP, the update software does not let you hold and move your program files to the new operating system. Only save data files in a new folder called Windows.old. To move the program files, I used third party program called PCmover ($ 30 and worth it) Laplink Software before you run the Upgrade Win 7. This allowed me move program files, desktop icons and data files with almost no problems. It takes a while, but well worth not having to carry the programs.

Updates to Windows 7
I purchased two of these products update. One was installed on a Dell notebook Windows Vista update. Absolutely no problem at all. The second was installed in the off-lease Dell desktop to replace a custom built XP computer that was beginning to give me trouble. Since the update of an operating system XP requires a clean install I did once. The installation of the Windows 7 operating system upgrade was uneventful - just had to put my old disk Windows XP on the drive for the upgrade to "see" and away is gone. Very satisfied with the results and am now contemplating buying another for my single Windows 7 other Dell XP machine ..... fun without reinstalling all the software, but it's worth. Windows 7 starts very quickly and stopping.

Windows 7 is great - HP had a few problems
I am delighted with Windodws 7. I was not so happy with HP. I think there were some problems between Windows 7 and a driver for certain features of my HP laptop. I had to return for Windows 7 to Amazon.com and buy a new copy of Windows 7 operating system HP. Amazon was great in the return process and have received a full refund within two weeks. Once I received my new copy of Windows 7 HP (which cost me an additional $ 12.00), HP support was very helpful with the installation.
So Windows gets a ten, Amazon gets a ten, and HP gets seven.
