How do "ready for the camera" logos with photoshop?

I just need a little help. I have an eight letter word processing I worked in photoshop to a source of bias and some manual and some re-space of one or two letters. I need help to make this a "ready to print" I can send files to a manufacurer or a printer can be used on any scale. I think that means you need to become vector images, but not sure.

To be printed at any scale (business card, or a fence, for example), you make a vector in illustrator. However, if you do not have or iluustrator not know how to use and if just going on your photos, you could make a PSP or a TIFF file, provided that the background is transparent (so that there will be a white box in her back when layered in the photo), should be fine. Also, find out what your resolution pictures are printed on. standard industry is 300 dpi, but may be higher. What have to do is compare the measurement of DPI on the watermark (that means that if your watermark or logo will be 2 inches long in the photo, you must be 600 pixels long MINIMUM). This will result usually in a file of more than a logo vector but do so unless he has access to an illustrator.

Printer help - Visual Basic 6?

Hey,

How do I get a FORM to print using the Print Dialog

to print to default i say form1.printform but how do I allow the user to select printer for the form to be printed to?

How do you print? If you’ve set the PrinterDefault property to True, you can use the
Printer object to print data (the user can change the default printer from the Printer
dialog box, setting a new default printer in the Windows registry or win.ini, but that
new printer automatically becomes the one referred to by the Printer object). For
example, you can print the picture in a picture box using the Printer object this way:
Printer.PaintPicture Picture1.Picture, 0, 0. Otherwise, you must use Windows
functions to print to the device represented by the hDC (a device context handle)
property.
After the user clicks on OK, you can read these properties from the Common Dialog
control to determine what printer options they’ve selected:
• Copies—The number of copies to print
• FromPage—The page to start printing
• ToPage—The page to stop printing
• hDC—The device context for the selected printer
Let’s see an example. In this case, we’ll use the Visual Basic PrintForm method to
print a copy of the current form as many times as the user specifies. We start by setting
the Common Dialog control’s CancelError property to True so we can catch Cancel
button clicks as trappable errors:
Private Sub Command1_Click()
On Error GoTo Cancel
...
Cancel:
End Sub
Then we set the PrinterDefault property to True and show the Print dialog box:
Private Sub Command1_Click()
On Error GoTo Cancel
CommonDialog1.PrinterDefault = True
CommonDialog1.ShowPrinter
...
Cancel:
End Sub
All that’s left is to loop over the number of copies the user has requested (as returned in
the Copies property) and call PrintForm each time:
Private Sub Command1_Click()
Dim intLoopIndex As Integer
On Error GoTo Cancel
CommonDialog1.PrinterDefault = True
CommonDialog1.ShowPrinter
For intLoopIndex = 1 To CommonDialog1.Copies
PrintForm
Next intLoopIndex
Cancel:
End Sub
That’s it—when the user clicks Command1, the program displays the Print dialog box;
the user can set the number of copies to print and when they click on OK, Visual Basic
displays a dialog box with the text “Printing…” momentarily, and the print job starts

Guide preparation of digital files

Use page layout programs like InDesign or Quark
• Create document the exact size of the final cut piece. For example, if you are creating a letter-size multi-page document with facing pages, the size of 11x17 8.5x11 page would not be.
• Use the home page to put common elements such as page numbers in the same location on multiple pages.
• Create multiple page documents differentials readers.
• Larger pictures to purge the document page by a 1 / 8 "(standard).
• Delete unused colors in the color palette of EPS files and page layout.
• Pictures crossroads facing pages should be divided into two separate image frames and aligned in their respective pages.
• Scale of bitmap images no more than 10% above or below size original. A drastic expansion will result in loss of detail and a drastic reduction can extend the image delay time and work.
• Link images in Illustrator and FreeHand files. Do not embed.

Tip: Remember to include any special Quark XTensions you may have been used to create the document.
Tip: Creating files in the development of programs such as Illustrator, FreeHand or Corel Draw can sometimes incur additional charges for printers.

Storage
• Keep all PhotoShop files in the CMYK color mode, which includes any nested or embedded files.
• Submit PhotoShop files only in TIFF or EPS (DCS is an EPS).
• Remove any unused channels or clipping paths, alpha in the flattened Photoshop files.
• Delete unused colors in the color palette of Illustrator, FreeHand.
• Turn off JPEG, LZW, ZIP compression on file or PhotoShop.

There are two kinds of graphics: vector and bitmap. Vector images consist of lines and curves that you create in programs like Illustrator or Freehand. They are called vectors, as they can be described in mathematical terms, such as size, length and position. Vector graphics are device independent, which means you can scale up or down without loss of detail.

bitmap images created in painting programs such as PhotoShop. Maps bit (also called, raster images) are created in a grid of small squares called pixels. Each pixel has a location and color value assigned. These images are dependent on the device, which means they have a fixed number of pixels for a given area. The images that appear irregular or bitmap does not have enough pixel information or resolution. A high resolution image will have more pixels on the network, which allows greater detail and color transitions.

Tip:
A formula for determining the resolution (dpi) is:
1.5 x = line Screen resolution. Many still use the old formula of two times the plot line, but there is no visible loss of detail in this lower dpi and save valuable disk space.

Image types
Bitmap (bitmap mode) in black and white images Normally (not gray) used in text or logos. These should be saved at 600 dpi, TIFF and scale as 100% of the fund can be set size. The
none.Use its page layout program to color the image.

Bitmap (Grayscale or CMYK) These are in black and white images. They or color must be saved at 225 dpi in TIFF or EPS format and scaled to 100% the size expected. Printers prefer TIFF if no cuts
roads because they tend EPS to have a background file slightly larger size. The must be set to white or a color in QuarkXpress.

Hint: If you are creating an image with a clipping path must be saved as EPS and tolerance should be set between 2 and 4, with 2 being a tighter fit irregular shapes.

Map of bits (in duotone mode) These images can be monotonous, duotone, tritone or quadtones and should be saved as an EPS.

Tip: Use channel 1 for the darker color and if you are using make sure black Black on the window says no, Process Black (your design software page will see it as a different color.) Place the screen angles in your design software not the page in Photoshop. Scott Lithography can select for you required.

Vector can be saved at any size and scale up or down in page layout program (we recommend 100% for a better preview) and can only be saved as an EPS.

Tip: Avoid gradient bands: Set the resolution output for 2540.

Color modes
You can edit the color in RGB or LAB, but save the images you imported design Page CMYK mode program. Import RGB prevent the image of being an adequate solution. RGB is for images that will only be viewed on a monitor.

Tip: Remember to calibrate your monitor frequently and remove the alpha channels to reduce the file size.

Selection Color
Spot (PMS) colors must use the same name in all the image files. For example, if you are using PMS 185 CV in a file and PMS 185 CVU in other, the page layout program are seen as two different colors. Please indicate if a PMS color is built with the spot or process colors.

Tip: Be aware that some colors do not reproduce successfully when built in the process.

Tip: If you are using metallic inks is a good idea for aqueous coating or blade coating to prevent stains.

Sources
• Ensure to include printer and screen font for each font type 1.
• Make the window of use of sources to ensure you have included all sources.
• If you have fonts used in EPS illustrations: o convert text to paths or include the source (s).

Basic types of fonts: PostScript, TrueType, OpenType.
PS comes in Type 1,2 or 3 (Type 1 is the most popular). You have two sources: the screen font and printer font font. The screen is for
showing the font on the screen (the icon shows a single "A"). The printer font is used by printers and imagesetters to create type mathematically.

TrueType contains both screen and printer fonts in a file (the icon shows three "A" s).

OpenType fonts are gaining popularity due to its cross-platform capability and flexibility. They are essentially of type 1 or type TrueType font in a TrueType interpreter, so it will have only one file for each font weight or style (ie bold, italics, small caps, etc. ..).

Tip: Use the current name and brand sources whenever possible (ie.Adobe, Bitstream). Keep a compressed version of your library sources and to replace the sources that cause printing problems.

Tip: Use the actual weight of the font, like Helvetica Bold.Do not use a menu style.

Catch
Printers usually handle the capture, so discuss any concerns you have. If you are comfortable doing their own pace, you should relay that to your printer. Although, it can make you responsible for catching errors.

Spelling
Generally, printers do not check the spelling of the documents because they are not aware of the jargon, product names or special pronouns in other industries. Spell check and proof read this document carefully. It is also an excellent idea to have two other individuals proof read the text before submitting.

PC Files
Printers were mainly based Mac, but virtually all of them accept PC files created in QuarkXpress, Pagemaker, InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, Corel Draw and EPS. It's a good idea to check with the printer before sending the files created with Microsoft products like MS Word or Publisher.

Archives Collection
I recommend using the Collection for the exit option when using QuarkXpress. Collect all the elements of your work (images, source files and final) and placed in one of three folders: Finals, Support, and not send Fonts.Do files that are not related to work. Please note that Quark will a list of fonts in the collection for the report output, but did not collect it for you.

Tip: I recommend using FlightCheck or page layout program according to pre-flight "before submitting your files.

Media
Printers accept almost any media today, and many have ftp sites that can save your trip time.Your printer must have a list of acceptable means.

Archive
Many printers work file to re-run, but do not count on it! Make sure you have a backup of your project. Suggest a procedure of regular file to make sure you have your work in the future. Personally, I use a digital tape system with Retrospect, and maintain a complete catalog outside the studio in case of fire or other losses.

FINAL CHECK LIST:
• All electronic files, images and sources of support disk
• Photos, slides, or art to be scanned
• Any special instructions
• A set of tests color or laser
• A set each of b & w laser separations compounds
• A model (if applicable)
• A previously printed sample (if applicable)

Help! Problems with printer and Windows Vista.?

I bought a new computer about 6 weeks ago that has vista on it, I plugged in my printer and it worked fine. I get up this morning and its saying its offline. I cant find the problem with it. Its plugged in and the lights are on. Its set as my default printer. Connected to USB port.

I call Dell and they forward me to HP for my printer issue. I have an HP PSC 1510 all in one printer, scanner, copier.

They tell me this printer is set up for Windows XP and I would have to pay for the shipping to get the new software for it.

I dont see how I need new software, when this printer has been working with my Vista computer for the past 6 weeks!

Does anyone have any suggestions to help get my printer back online? It wont even print a test page......and its on.

You can download the Vista driver for your HP PSC 1510 All-in-One Printer from the following page on the HP website. Do make sure you get the correct one for whichever version of Vista your computer uses though.
