I ahve a HP Laserjet 1020 printer. I could not get prints in linux.
Please let me know compatible driver, as I tried other drivers for it. I could not get compatible driver for HP Laserjet1020.

I have a deskjet 840C printer hookup to my desktop computer. I just bought a laptop and would like to add the printer to my laptop. The problem is I don't have any disk to download my printer to my laptop. Is there anyway I can hookup the printer to my wireless without the disk? Thank you.

Here are a couple pointers for your printer. If both computers are hooked up to the same wireless network all you have to do is
1. go to the desktop computer and Find the computer under Start > Control Panel > and left click on Printers to open up Printers windows.
2 find the Printer in the list and right click on it and choose to share the printer on the network. If your network connections are correct the Lap Top will be able to find the printer by going to Control Panel > Printers ...Click on add a printer follow through the windows to find the printer in the networking section not local. If you need you can go to HP and download from their section the printer drivers.
Remember with this set up the Desktop computer must be powered up.
The other option is the best I think...go to a computer equipment store and look into purchasing a Hub that is capable of acting as a virtual print server. They run about 50 bux but both printers will be able to print without the power having to be on for the desktop all of the time.

Canon may not have drivers for the printer which are Vista compatible. Check on the Canon website for any updated drivers or any info regarding the printer and Vista.
You could try running the printers installer in "compatibility mode". Copy the install CD to a folder on your hard drive, then right click the .exe file and select properties, then select the Compatibility tab and check the appropriate box.

You need to install drivers on each computer that will access the printer, not just which is directly connected. Go to support.dell.com and see if there are Vista drivers for your printer.
Installed new printer and now original printer not working.?
I have been using an HP psc 2110 inkjet with my desktop for years, but recently bought a laser brother MFC-8640D printer. Installed the Brother MFC and hooked it up to my second USB port and it is working great. However, now my HP 2110 is not working (I need to keep using it b/c it will print color).
When I try to print a document, the print job will appear in my 2110's print status box, but then I'll get an "Error-Printing" message after a few minutes. I have checked with HP, and I am using the latest driver for that printer.
What is going on?

Just as a guess; you probably didn't set up the "Share a Printer" option.
Go to the Control Panel, click the Printer' logo, right-click the 2110's icon, and then click the 'Sharing...' selection from the drop-down menu.
Then, hopefully, just follow instructions. Ya gotta share.

I think you have to replace a new cartridge. that's what I do with mine. HTH
